Kevin Drew is a U.S. journalist, educator and published academic researcher. Born in Oregon, he has worked in Asia, Europe and the U.S., and has reported from Africa, Australia and the Middle East.

Currently an assistant managing editor at U.S. News & World Report, he previously worked as an editor at The New York Times and newsroom supervisor for CNN International, living in Hong Kong during both roles. In the 1990s he reported across Central and Eastern Europe, including for The Associated Press, and before that he worked as an editor and reporter at news organizations along the U.S. West Coast. He is a recipient of a DuPont Award for Excellence in Journalism as a supervisor for CNN's digital coverage of the South Asian tsunami, and a Peabody Team Award for CNN's coverage of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath.

His graduate research focused on emerging, ethical business models for news organizations. His thesis, which focused on organizational collaboration at news media companies, has been published in a leading journalism academic journal.

He has taught graduate and undergraduate university journalism students in both Hong Kong and the U.S., and has spoken to students across Asia and Europe.
